Its been only a week since Apple released the iPhone 3.1.3 update and Sherif Hashim has already discovered an exploit that could allow the unlocking of iPhone on 3.1.3 firmware on baseband 05.12.01 (which means USA users can use the unlocked iPhone on T Mobile or foreigner users can use it on any GSMs). If you are in US and want to use iPhone on Sprint and Verizon, forget about it for the moment.
iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd has confirmed that the Sherif Hashim exploit works. Now iPhone Dev Team can release this unlock any time which will enable masses to jailbreak their iPhone on firmware 3.1.3. So if you are waiting to jailbreak your iPhone, we hope that iPhone Dev Team does not wait for iPhone 4G to release the unlock.
