How To Disable (Or Enable) Task Manager In Windows XP

June 3, 2009 · 4 comments

If you want to disbale (or enable) the Task Manager in Windows and do not want to go into registry edit for all those long changes, here is an easy way on how to disable Task Manager. I have applied it and it works like a charm. Follow these steps to Enable Task Manager.

  • Click Start > Run.
  • Write gpedit.msc in the Run box and hit Enter.
  • Now go to User Configration > Administrative Templates > System.
  • Here, go to Ctrl+Alt+Delete option and double click on Remove Task Manager.
  • A new Window will open, Enable this option and click Apply and OK.

This simple method will make sure that no user can acces your system’s Task Manager. This option is very useful for sharing systems where you need security.
