It is always a good idea to backup your important home DVDs collection so that you can use it if your DVD is scratched or lost. You can keep backup of important family DVDs and other personal DVDs. Make sure you have copyrights for copying a DVD before doing this process. We will use a free software FreeDVD for this purpose. This free software is frequently updated and does not require installation. Follow these steps to copy a dvd using FreeDVD.
- Insert the DVD disk in your computer that you want to copy to your hard disk. Open the DVD contents and copy VIDEO_TS folder on a location on your hard drive.
- Download FreeDVD and run it (It is 44KB only and does not require installation).
- In the FreeDVD select the folder VIDEO_TS that you copied on your hard drive. A prompt message will notify the restriction that will be removed.
- You will not have to adjust setting in most cases, do them if necessary and press Free DVD button to remove all restrictions.



This is free and easy way to copy a DVD to your computer. This tutorial is for educational purpose only and you want to use it to copy your personal DVDs to your computer such as family DVDs.
