Tumblr gives its users the capability to make changes easily in the layout of their site and of the cool options is that it allows you to change the existing themes so that you can use your favorite tumblr theme to add more functionality and usability to your site according to your use.
Here is an easy way to change your tumblr theme if you have downloaded it from somewhere.
- Go to your Dashboard and click on ‘Customize‘
- Now click the ‘Theme‘ tab here
- Here, you will either see a text box with code in it or list of default themes. If you see a list of default theme, click “use custom HTML” (and press OK in resultant pop up dialog). If you see text box with code in it, go to next step
- Now you have a box with code in it, delete all the code in the box. Copy and paste the content of theme file that you have downloaded in the box
- Click the ‘Save Changes‘ button to get the job done. You now have your new theme ready and active

I have a few questions. If I change the theme, will my posts or my pages be somehow affected by this?
@Basil No, it will not effect your posts/pages and will not make any changes in them. will just give a new look to your site.
