Tips for an Effective Advertising Campaign
When spending money on an advertisement campaign, you should make sure that you will get the maximum out of it. The best thing is to take some time out and think about the “goal” which you want to achieve. Here are some things which may help maximize results of an advertising campaign.

Have a goal
Be clear about what you want out of this campaign. Do you just want traffic? Or do you want to sell something?
Choose the RIGHT place to advertise
This is very important point for effective promotion. Ask yourself series of questions before you decide to advertise somewhere.
- Will you reach your target audience by advertising here?
- Make a list of different options available and choose options that suit your needs. You may want to compare site traffics, origin of traffic etc to choose from list.
- Make sure you always know what your budget is.
Cuil – Look out google
What is it?
“Biggest search engine on the web” at least that is what cuil says about itself.

What does that mean?
Three former Google engineers think that Internet is growing like anything and other search engines (“old systems” according to them) run algorithms that were created much earlier and have different approaches and can not be modified to include every page on web today. So they came up with “cuil” which has different approach and algorithm and is different because
- cuil has indexed over 120 billion pages. Three times more than others
- Results are organised in magazine style
- Privacy protection – they don’t keep identifiable information on users and their search histories
Will it kill Google?
Does not look so for now. They are just one day old but there are some serious problems at start
- First day it was every where. CNN and other news channels featured cuil. Its on blogosphere everywhere. Result: severs were down on first day. They wrote “We’ll be back soon… due to overwhelming interest, our servers are running a bit hot right now”. Google has no such problem.
- One of my friend searched for his hosting company and came up with results but there was a nude picture (which off-course has nothing to do with his hosting) and incorrect logo attached with his site in search pages.
Google is there since 1998 now and it has become giant on Internet by launching some wonderful things like AdWords/Adsense, Google analytics, Gmail and acquiring sites like Youtube. They are way ahead in search engine race.
So for the moment let Cuil take care of MSN and YAHOO (and other search engines). Google is getting bigger and bigger with every deal they make and every product or service they launch.
